About Minitel Records

Founded in 2016 by long-time friends and producers Arsonye and WARNG, Minitel Records* is a French independent label based in the city of Tours.

The label was born out of the two producers’ common passion for childhood songs and melodies of the 80s and 90s. Since then, the philosophy behind Minitel Records has been to promote a specific sound rather than a particular music genre.

Focusing on quality rather than quantity, the Minitel team thrives on a culture of proximity, dedication and loyalty with its artists.

Since 2016, the label has released works from Stilz (Calgary, Alberta), Robert Quester (Koln, Germany), Billy Mays Band (Strasbourg, France) and Red Soda (Nice, France).

The Minitel team always welcomes demo submissions and collaboration projects.

*Considered at the time as a major technological innovation, the Minitel was a videotex online service accessible through telephone lines. It was the world’s most successful online service prior to the World Wide Web and was invented in Cesson-Sévigné, near Rennes in Brittany, France.
The Minitel service was switched off definitively in 2012. However, the name still embodies technological innovation, the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s and a certain idea of the French touch.
